The Problem In Macbeth
Number of words: 3187 - Number of pages: 12.... would lead to mutual destruction. If I
- and everyone included - unhampered and in absolute selfishness only seek my
own, the misfortune I could inflict on someone would naturally be limitless. So
there has to be a further addition to the concept of Good.
The Good, we might add, is not only the instantaneous need for
satisfaction - in a matter of time it will often turn out to be an evil - but it
is in fact the absolute purpose for any human being (the highest Good), and it
isn't just common for everyone, but, when you strive for it, you include the
others in .....

Macbeth: Occurrences That Led To Macbeth's Downfall
Number of words: 821 - Number of pages: 3.... strong. The following quote by Lady Macbeth:
"Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex
me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe, top-full
of direst cruelty! Make thick my blood, stop up the
access and passage to remorse… Come to my woman's breasts,
and take my milk for gall…"
(Act I, Scene V, ll 46-54, pp 35)
Is possibly the most important passage that leads to Lady Macbeth's death.
She calls on the evil spirits to "unsex" her, and to replace her "milk"
with "gall." It seems that she wants to be the most cruelest being in the
worl .....

A Critical Analysis Of Shakespeare's Hamlet
Number of words: 1121 - Number of pages: 5.... he is "Mad for thy
love?" (Act 2 Scene 2 line 95). Opelia answers a question posed by Polonius by
which she replied that she had told Hamlet that she could not see or communicate
with him any more. Her father makes reference to Hamlet's madness once again by
proclaiming that what his daughter said, "... hath made him (Hamlet) mad." (Act
2 Scene 2 line 123).
The argument of whether Hamlet is insane because of his love for Ophelia is
often debated, but a more confusing and complex situation is the struggle within
Hamlet's mind. His personal struggle is r .....

King Lear - The Fool: A Motivated Character
Number of words: 913 - Number of pages: 4.... form. The conflict of good with evil, of wisdom with folly, and the hopeless cry for justice are presented by the Fool. He sees the inner truth about the world. “Thou wouldst make a good fool,” (I, 5, 38) said the Fool to his master at the beginning of his misfortunes. He spoke as a prophet. The king lost everything including his wits, and has now himself become the fool. The Fool shows the sign of real sanity. The solution to the problem is set by the Fool; the problem of moral relativity, “Wisdom and goodness to the vile seem vile, filths savour but .....

King Lear: The Quest For Power
Number of words: 489 - Number of pages: 2.... brother to his father, it implicates his father in a plot with France to kill The Duke of Cornwall. The King decides that Gloucester’s supposed treachery cannot be tolerated and orders that his eyes be torn out. At this point, Edmund seems to be unequivocally evil. This is undoubtedly false.
Two of the other characters of the play, Goneril and Regan surely equal Edmund’s ferocity in their quest for power. Our first glimpse at the two surely begins to prove that fact. In this scene, the King asks that each of his three daughters profess their undying love to hi .....

Number of words: 529 - Number of pages: 2.... This is brought
about when Howard, Willy's boss and godson, shows the tape recorder to Willy and
appe ars to be more interested in the sound and technology of the machine
instead of Willy, who i s fighting for his job. Howard no longer need s Willy's
services and without concern fires him. This, to Willy, was like, "eating the
orange and throwing away the peel". However, Willy is partly to blame, as he
does not accept change and wants to remain in the pas t. This is foreshadowed in
the scene where Willy is left alone with the tape recorder and is unable to s .....

A Letter To Shakespeare
Number of words: 611 - Number of pages: 3.... she simply said something to the affect of "Romeo, where are you?" since that
is practically all she is saying. And at the end of the balcony scene, instead
of Juliet saying "Parting is such sweet sorrow," although that is very dramatic,
she could just say something like, "I wish you didn't have to go so soon."
Another part that I noticed was in the scene where Mercutio was
insulting Tybalt, right before they fought in the streets of Verona. Mercutio
had called Tybalt "prince of cats" since Tybalt was an ordinary name for house
cats at that time. I think t .....

Talk Show Trash
Number of words: 1380 - Number of pages: 6.... sick. One man actually told his fiancee the he had sex
with one of her male cousins. Another told of his experiences of picking up
male gay prostitutes in the streets of New York City on many occasions. Now my
question is that is any of this even necessary for people to watch, or the
embarrassment of the individuals and those mentioned in the show.
The next trash candidate would definitely be Jerry Springer, who tries
so very hard at the end of his show to put real-life meaning to the topics of
his show in “Springer's thought of the Day.” Topic this tim .....
