Hamlet: Antiheroism In Hamlet
Number of words: 834 - Number of pages: 4

.... obstacles in avenging his murder. Act four places a special emphasis on Hamlet's intelligence. In scene two, Hamlet is very insolent and rude towards Rosencrantz and Guildenstern with such phrases as, That I can keep your counsel and not, mine own. Beside, to be demanded of a sponge, what replication should be made by the son of a king? (IV, ii, 12-14) The reference to the sponge reflects the fact that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are easily ordered by the king and do not have minds of their own. Hamlet does not like Rosencrantz and Gu .....

Hamlet: Contrast Plays A Major Role
Number of words: 690 - Number of pages: 3

.... ... carpenter" V,1,41-42). Shakespeare even went so far as to include his puns in this grave scene (V,1,120). Hamlet himself experiences a temporary lightening of mood from listening to the gravediggers' conversation. Their carefree treatment of death singing while digging graves, not to mention tossing skulls in the air) is a parallel to Hamlet's newfound attitude. After having committed himself to his cause in Act IV, he is no longer bothered by the paradox of good and evil, and (seemingly) is untroubled by his previous misgivings. Hamlet's musings .....

The Crucible
Number of words: 673 - Number of pages: 3

.... made Abigail angry. She then started blaming Elizabeth and others in the village for blackening her name. At this point in the story, Abigail really started to show her evil nature. She wanted no more of Elizabeth, so she could have Proctor all to herself. She drank blood, the charm, and danced in the woods as a means of witchcraft to end Elizabeth’s life. Abigail said: I want to open myself! I want the light of God, I want the sweet love of Jesus! I danced for the Devil; I saw him; I wrote in his book; I go back to Jesus; I kiss his hand. I saw Sarah G .....

Our Town: Universal Theme Of Family
Number of words: 371 - Number of pages: 2

.... uses techniques which I have never observed before in this play. For instance dramatic irony, and Pantomine play a very important role in this play. By the use of the stage manager constantly pausing and giving us a reality check, he makes sure we know we are still in reality. The Stage manager creates quite and effective environment by playing different parts. Although in the play he plays many miscellaneous roles, to the audience he is the constant reminder that this is a play. He serves as a gateway between two worlds of "Our Town" and 1998. In .....

Twelfth Night: Two Faces, One Mind
Number of words: 499 - Number of pages: 2

.... a disguise like Viola's becomes the center of the action, and causes almost all the of the important aspects of the play. The confusion that Sebastian creates when he returns would not occur without Viola's disguise. Sir Andrew believes that the woman of his desires, Olivia, is spending too much time with Cesario, and challenges him to a duel. As he put it, Olivia was doing “more favors to the Count's servingman than ever she bestowed upon me.” (3-2 l.5-7) At first, Viola is nearly forced into a battle, but is saved when the confused Antonio arrives. Later .....

Hamlet: Tragedy Of Failure
Number of words: 2444 - Number of pages: 9

.... instead was murder. Hamlet swears revenge. But rather than swoop instantly to that revenge, Hamlet pretends to be insane in order to mask an investigation of the accusation brought by his father's ghost. Why Hamlet puts on this "antic disposition" and delays in killing Claudius is the central question of the play. But Hamlet did not swear to his dead father that he, detective-like, would investigate. Hamlet swore revenge. And he has more than enough motivation to exact revenge. Does it not, think thee, stand me now upon- He that hath kill .....

King Lear: Suffering
Number of words: 473 - Number of pages: 2

.... of a child. This kind of suffering could lead to suicide, and it would have, except Gloucester was blind and couldn't see that there was no cliff to throw himself off of. His enemies didn't want to kill him, but they already did, internally. The internal death is the final stage of mental suffering, but there are many stages before the one must go through to get to that last stage. Many of these stages are shown in King Lear, as he breaks down from a powerful man to a crazy derelict, all because of someone close to him, that he trusted, stabbed him in the .....

Death Of A Salesman Vs. Hamlet
Number of words: 603 - Number of pages: 3

.... his Uncle/Dad, Hamlet begins to mentally falter and eventually, is in such a wild rage that he accidentally kills Polonious believing him to be his father. Hilarity ensues. Ophelia, Hamlet's love interest, commits suicide/dies (that's up for debate elsewhere) after going slightly mad from the impact of her father's death, then Laertes, Polonius' son, arrives on the scene enraged and ready to kill Hamlet for what he's done, and just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, unbeknownst to Hamlet, Claudius has been plotting to kill him. Talk about your .....
