"Just as a raging flood sweeps away a sleeping village, So does death claim a man of distracted mind, As he continually seeks more and more Of life's fleeting pleasures." Once again the image of water was used, but in a much different context. Here The Dhammapada refers to water not as drops filling a bucket, but it shows a more forceful side of water. A raging flood engulfing a sleepy village .....

The hotel could possibly change the characters thinking and cause them to be really weird. This is shown when Scully shows the Swede pictures of his dead family (269). What person in their “right” mind would show someone who thinks they are going to be killed a picture of someone who was killed? What the modern world's definition of a Fireman is today does not match the definition of a Fireman in this novel. Firemen in are employed with the sole purpose of starting fires as opposed to putting them out and saving lives. The fires started by these Firemen are provoked by reports that the owners of the building that is to be destroyed are hiding illegal books in the establishment. Guy Montag is a Fireman in this novel. He lives .....

.... was Heathcliff. The entire story was written around Heathcliff and yet he wasn't really the main character. Heathcliff was adopted off of the streets at a very young age. Neither of his foster siblings cared much for him at first. Eventually, his sister grew to like him and his brother grew to hate him. As the years passed, Heathcliff's brother Hindley continued to scar him emotionally and his sister Cathy grew to love him with such a passion that when Cathy and Hindley died in their middle ages, Heathcliff vowed to take revenge on Hindley's son and .....

She also wanted to understand why blacks were being mistreated, beat, and even killed for no other reason but their color. The event in Anne’s childhood followed her into adolescence.
