With Jody, Janie thought that she would forever have "flower dust and springtime sprinkled over everything." She thought she'd have "a bee for her bloom." She didn't exactly find this in Jody though. In him she definitely found change and chance, but still not the love she was looking for. What Jody had for Janie was more of a lust than a love. He was very protective of her and didn't want anyone else to see in .....

These qualities, the want to control, greed, envy, idleness and jealousy, to name a few, are hidden from those they interact with, but there are some that they associate with that they reveal their mind to. But those that know are of a like mind to them. "Birds of a feather flock together", it has been said. It has certainly been true to the characters in Ibsen's and Dickens' work. In Oliver Twist, Fagin and his gang are of like qualities, all being thieves and gangsters, with whom poor Oliver unwittin .....

Elizabeth is tied to Wickham by her intellectual commitment to objectivity, which translates into superficial bindings. .... He realizes that war isn’t all glory, there is death and destruction. Paul learns to deal with the deaths of all his friends and how to keep his mind clear without turning into an animal. One of the big issues in the book was Kemmerich’s leather boots. At his death everybody was squabbling over who would get them. Remarque, in my opinion, shows you the pettiness between good friends because of war. Remarque kind of slips in these themes, some others are how terrible war really is, friendship is a must to stay alive on the battlefield, and World War .....

.... Dmitry would then leave the affair and move on to another. With every new affair it would erase the pain of the last affair and excite him with something new. This lasted until one day he saw a woman wearing a beret walking a white Pomeranian. He lusted after her. He would see her in a public garden and in the square several times a day. Dmitry gets to know the woman as Anna, which then turns his lust of women into passion for Anna. Dmitry’s passion begins as he starts to learn about Anna. The antagonist in this book would have to be the people of Dawson's Landing. They judged him for what he said before even knowing him for very long. You can't judge a person for one wrong thing that they said. Pudd'nhead proves the rest of the town wrong when he solves a big murder case by using one of his best abilties. The town should have never judged him, yet instead listened to him and give him a chance. I would s .....

The way that the past suspicious happenings appear in the middle of the story also creates a lot of tension, as reading from the beginning, the reader does not know the circumstances responsible for the fear felt by the three residing custodians. "for he had opened the door and fallen headlong down the steps I had just ascended." "the tale of a timid wife and the tragic end that came to her husband's jest of frightening her." The story begins with the narrator explaining that no ghost will frighten him. .....
