The distraction worked but the novel isn’t clear on saying exactly if he lives or dies, but I think it leads more towards to TJ dying. Many risks were taken in this novel. Almost every character took a risk some of the risks came out positive and some came out negatively. I think papa and TJ’s risks were the biggest in the novel. The scary thing about this book was that America really used to be like this, you rarely hear about it today but still happens. .....

That fact coincides with Rousseau's idea of the savage man, but after two years Robinson produces a larger quantity to sell for profit. This course of action can be associated with capitalism and being prepared for the future. This is not what the "savage man" in Rousseau's discourses is associated with. Instead he is concerned with what is necessary for survival and repose at his present .....

Mr. Manders is exactly the same way. He only cares about what people think of him, not real issues. Ibsen also shows that people are narrow-minded. Nora even points this out to Tovrald when he is condemning Krogstad for one mistake. Mr. Manders is very narrow-minded in the way he thinks society should be. The “true” Prince spends a short amount of time in jail in which he must witness as innocent people have limbs cut off, and are burned at the stake. He remembers it all though, and promises himself when he is returned to his rightful position he will rule mercifully and correct unjust laws. The monster watched the way that the different family members interacted with one another. In his observation of them he learned the lessons that his father had neglected to teach him. Another reason I really dislike Jan is because she was going to baby sit a young child while she was high. She could have killed that young infant because of her stupidity and that really annoys me. The part of this book that was particularly effective was when I saw how drugs led Alice into a mental hospital.
