The Internet
Number of words: 1903 - Number of pages: 7.... in
three years, the system will be used by over 100 million people (Cooke 61).
Since the World Wide Web (WWW or W3) became popular through point-and-click
programs that made it easier for non-technical people to use the Internet, over
21,000 businesses and corporations have become accessible through the Internet
(Baig 81). These companies range from corporate giants like IBM, AT&T, Ford and

What Is A GDSS?
Number of words: 788 - Number of pages: 3.... only, the single-computer and keypad response system, and the multiple computer / workstation network system (Donelan, 1993). Each with its corresponding unique architecture provides solutions to existing problems within the group dynamic at varying costs.
To provide a better view of what each of the three architectures of GDSS's can provide, a brief description of each follows:
The single-computer, software only system is the simplest and cheapest form of a GDSS. The system consists of a single computer running specialized GDSS software. The group involved .....

Video Cards
Number of words: 2882 - Number of pages: 11.... two dimensional graphics which were
only in low resolution. However, there has now emerged as a result of high
resolution three dimensional graphics technology. This paper will discuss why
the video card nowadays can process high resolution three dimensional graphics,
but why the video card in the past could only process low resolution two
dimensional graphics. The explanation will be based on some recently developed
video cards such like Matrox Millenium. This paper will also discuss how the 3D
graphic displays on a 2D monitor. Lastly, the video card .....

Video Games
Number of words: 352 - Number of pages: 2.... in a real life situation, Playstation would be the better choice to go with.
When it comes to wait time, the Nintendo 64 blows away the Playstation. Some games for the Playstation take up to a minute to load. This is due to the fact that the system uses compact discs for software. On the other hand, Nintendo 64 uses cartridges. These load instantly. If you have no patients for waiting on a game to load, then Nintendo 64 is the better choice.
Accessorizing the systems is a minor point, but it is still there. The Nintendo 64 comes with four controller ports, so .....

Ethernet
Number of words: 836 - Number of pages: 4.... with the greatest difference being the construction of the
network packet header. This method consists of multiple workstation that
accesses a transmission medium called Multiple Access. Here the medium
listen until no signals are detected. This is known as Carrier Sense. After
checking to see if more than one signal is present they transmit. This is
called Collision Detection. When a collision occurs the station then has to
retransmit. The most important part of CSMA/CD access method is collision
detection. Workstation may simultaneous transmit causing a collisi .....

The Bulgarian And Soviet Virus Factories
Number of words: 9220 - Number of pages: 34.... why computer viruses
cannot be dangerous. The arguments presented were, in general, correct, but
the author had completely missed the fact that the majority of PC users are
not experienced programmers.
A few months later, in the fall of the same year, two men came in the
editor's office of the magazine and claimed that they have found a computer
virus. Careful examination showed that it was the VIENNA virus.
At that time the computer virus was a completely new idea for us. To make a
computer program, whose performance resembles a live being, is able to
replicat .....

Computer History
Number of words: 182 - Number of pages: 1.... Gottfried Von Lebniz invented a calculating machine that could add and multiply.
In 1812, computer developments had risen in Cambridge, England. Charles Babbage wanted to develop a machine that would operate the long computations to be able to operate automatically. He then devised an automatic calculating machine, which he named a "difference engine". By 1822, he had constructed a small working model for demonstrations. In 1823, he started construction of a full-scale "difference engine". It was designed to be steam powered, fully automatic and was to be comanded by a fixed instruction programer.

Where Did UNIX Come From And Why Are There Different Versions Of UNIX?
Number of words: 276 - Number of pages: 2.... develop their own single-user, multi-tasking small operating
system and they chose the name UNIX. Their initial goal was simply to operate
their DEC PDP machines more effectively. In 1971, UNIX became multi-user and
multi-tasking, but it was still just being developed by a small group of
programmers who were trying to take advantage of the machines they had at hand.
(In other words, this operating system that they were developing did not run on
any machine made by Bell!)
In 1973, Dennis Ritchie rewrote the UNIX operating system in C (a language he
had developed.) And in 1975, the portability of the C progr .....
