DNA
Number of words: 1416 - Number of pages: 6.... is composed of three things. The first is a sugar called deoxyribose.
Attached to one end of the sugar is a phosphate group, and at the other is one
of several nitrogenous bases. DNA contains four nitrogenous bases. The first two,
adenine and guanine, are double-ringed purine compounds. The others, cytosine
and thymine, are single-ringed pyrimidine compounds. (Miller, 141) Four types of
DNA nucleotides can be formed, depending on which nitrogenous base is involved.
The phosphate group of each nucleotide bonds with a carbon from the deoxyribose.

The Effect Of Temperture On Air Pressure
Number of words: 1262 - Number of pages: 5.... is that the milk jug will remain the same.
3) the experiment with the egg and the bottle is that the egg will not be sucked in the bottle.
PROCEDURE:
For the first experiment the procedure is:
1) Heat an ordinary pop can on a hot plate.
2) After about fifteen minutes take the can off the hot plate and put it upside-down in a pan of cold water.
3) Record my observations on a piece of paper.
4) Write my conclusions in my science fair logbook.
For the second experiment my procedure is:
1) Get an empty gallon milk jug at room temperature.

Aggression As A Mental Disorder In Canines
Number of words: 692 - Number of pages: 3.... makes affected dogs difficult to live with (Horwitz 42). According to Dodman, traditional treatments of dominance-related aggression include an increase in exercise, brushing up on obedience training, and ceasing to engage in any rough play or wrestling (35) . More recently, however, drugs such as Prozac have been used as treatment. Dodman says that Prozac is,"...extremely effective at curtailing dominance-related aggression...enabling owners to quickly gain the upper hand,"(34). Another type of aggression found in canines is seizure-related aggression. S .....

The Aftermath Of Hurricane Mitch
Number of words: 382 - Number of pages: 2.... and the
river in a desperate attempt to wash and salvage their goods.
A muddy valley runs past the Central Prison, where some of the
incarcerated swam to freedom as Mitch's floodwaters rose and propelled them
over the walls. Hundreds of homes, streets, and businesses were washed away,
and those that remained standing found themselves anchored beneath several
feet of mud and debris.
In some places, the stench is overpowering. The smell from
intermingled garbage, rotting food, rancid floodwater, animal and -- very
possibly -- human corpses f .....

Global Warming And The Greenhouse Effect
Number of words: 1903 - Number of pages: 7.... the last 120 years, making the world hotter than it has been in 100,000 years. From the beginning of the industrial revolution, concentrations of carbon dioxide have increased by 30%, concentrations of methane have doubled, and nitrous oxide has risen by 15%. The increases of these chemicals have enhanced the heat trapping capability of the atmosphere of the earth. Sulfate aerosols, cool the atmosphere because they reflect light back into space, but sulfates do not live long in the atmosphere.
Scientists still do not know what exactly is heating up the earth .....

Hepatitis B 2
Number of words: 649 - Number of pages: 3.... America, Eastern and Mediterranean Europe (as these areas
have a high number of people infected); drug users; and anyone in close contact
with someone infected. This is not as scary as it seems, for you cannot contract the virus through sneezing, coughing, or holding hands.
A surprising fact about hepatitis B, considering it is preventable, is that
one in twenty people are or will be infected in their lifetime. There are one
million people infected in the United States. More than 350 million people
worldwide are chronic carriers of the virus. A .....

Deficiencies In Development Of Cocaine Children
Number of words: 1762 - Number of pages: 7.... that only through the school environment can be recognized. In a class environment, the deficiencies of a cocaine child are often confused with those of a disruptive child. The underlying truth is: teachers are not able to cope with them on an individual basis and give them more attention.
An initial sign that some children demonstrate is a lack of concentration on virtually every task. Excessive disorganization beyond that of regular children along with being more than just the class nuisance can be characteristics of cocaine-exposed children. While mos .....

Great White Sharks
Number of words: 433 - Number of pages: 2.... In the summer the sharks move to the coasts of Oregon
and occasionally the Gulf of Alaska, and in the fall, they turn south and move along the
offshore islands. They are also found in great numbers in the Australian waters.
The great white is a very agile killer that hunts mostly anything in the ocean. They
are carnivorous and usually prey on sick or injured prey. Just one drop of blood can make
the shark go into a feeding frenzy. It is not made to swim fast and its usual speed is
fifteen miles per hour. It migrates south to warmer wa .....
