Time For Americans To Be A Family
Number of words: 694 - Number of pages: 3.... black, and now, African-American. I can't seem to find a consensus out
there in any media, one moment the reference is to blacks, and the next to
African-Americans, when they are referring to the same group of people.
I'm not knocking what people want to call themselves, it's the mixed messages
I'm getting and the inaccuracy of the terminology that frustrates me.
Look around and you will see there is the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People, the Black Muslims, and African-Americans.
All of these terms are used to refer to m .....

Civilize The Wilderness
Number of words: 515 - Number of pages: 2.... for one main reason. That reason
is technology. Technology plays an important role in everyone's lives
today. Without it, we would not have computers, fax machines, cellular
phones, and all of the modern conveniences that we have today. The fact is,
that many people believe that the wilderness is like an unborn country. A
country that has nothing and is striving to become more advanced. We see
this as an opportunity to better it and make it seem like we are actually
helping. But, are we really helping? In my opinion, no. I feel that we
are destro .....

Animal Rights
Number of words: 1133 - Number of pages: 5.... you have walked into is a testing laboratory for cosmetics. The technician gives a short bark of laughter and asks if you would like to see the skin-testing lab.
Every year millions of animals suffer and die in painful tests to determine ‘the safety’ of items ranging from eye shadow to oven cleaner. The eye irritancy test described above is only one of the tests that convince me that animal product testing is absolutely wrong. A lethal dose test force-feeds animals a particular chemical in order to see how toxic it is. It may also be injected under the .....

Divorce
Number of words: 1450 - Number of pages: 6.... children and sometimes they don't, but when they do, it usually brings
them closer together. All parents have desires and hopes for their children.
The way in which parents achieve these ends can differ. Researchers do not
agree on which of the child-raising practices is best. But it is known that
parents provide role models for their children and that children rely on their
parents to teach them about the world.
When a culture's values and traditions undergo a rapid change it becomes
difficult to decide which attitudes and beliefs children should be ta .....

Parental Guidance Against Television Violence
Number of words: 1444 - Number of pages: 6.... own personal protection and well-being. Parents desire their children to grow up in a safe and stable environment and look to the government for support. However, our government can not be expected to support or solve the problems associated with censoring violent television programs.
One of the main reasons why government cannot be expected to censor violent television programming is because of the Constitution’s "freedom of expression" clause. Producers of television programming declare that "freedom of expression" and "freedom from censorship" are gu .....

Women And Equality In The Workforce
Number of words: 342 - Number of pages: 2.... Will the women even out with the men in the workforce
and share an even percentage with them at 50% a piece? Or is it
possible that women will overtake the men and the men will be forced to
pursue their equal rights?
This experiment will attempt to answer that very question. In a
setting where the qualifications are equivalent, do women or men have a
better shot at landing a job? Is there now a discrimination against men
for no other reason except the fear of not hiring a woman? Do college
males have the same chance of being hired as colleg .....

Violence: Children Who Own The Streets
Number of words: 2418 - Number of pages: 9.... rape and use drugs. This is not the America that we knew, this is a
battle. What can we do to influence these kids to stay off trouble? First of
all, we have to realize this is a very serious problems. And it has to be
stopped. The second step is to figure out what causes children to be violent
and become juvenile delinquents. This negative attitude causes them to lead a
life of delinquency and a life isolated from society's idealistic world. When
we ask these question, many others come in mind. Does these problems begin in
the family? Are .....
