Stating the obvious, the both poems mention fruits. In Alicante, the persona mentions an orange while in This is just to Say, the persona mentions plums. What do these fruits have in connection with the poem? Are they just mere objects in the poem or do they have a deeper meaning?
The two poems essentially talk about the same thing. They both have sexual connotations.
